Schlabig Volunteers Participate In Accounting For Kids® Day

Akron, OH, Nov. 11, 2009…Several Schlabig employees will visit Copley-Fairlawn Middle School in Copley to participate in an annual Accounting for Kids® Day, where students learn the risks and rewards of real-life investing. The volunteers from Schlabig & Associates, Ltd, include Lori Conant, Sharon Sledzik and Kate Williams.

The lesson couldn’t be timelier given the current financial crisis sweeping the country. As families across America are struggling with rising prices and falling investments, children are picking up on potential financial stress at home.

Accounting for Kids Day, presented each November, teaches 10,000 Ohio students how investing over the long term can pay big dividends. Accounting for Kids Day is presented jointly by The Ohio Society of CPAs and The Ohio CPA Foundation, its charitable organization.

Conant, Sledzik and Williams will spend the day with more than 30 students at Copley-Fairlawn Middle School. The Schlabig volunteers will illustrate smart accounting strategies through an Accounting for Kids Day stock market game and show entertaining, educational videos.

Schlabig & Associates, Ltd, has participated in the event for the past eight years. Schlabig & Associates, Ltd, is a leading certified public accounting firm that offers strategic services for Ohio-based businesses and individuals.
